- On April 18, 2011, the very first P.R.I.D.E. class graduated at Waubay Elementary School. The ten students of Mrs. Gaikowki's 5th grade class were awarded their certificates of completion at an award ceremony held at the school. Way to go kids!

The Day County Sheriff's Office is a 24 hour manned facility. Our trained staff not only answers calls for the Sheriff's Office, but also dispatches for all emergency organizations in the county.

Our dispatch staff must be able to juggle multiple tasks at the same time, while remaining calm and focused. They are also responsible for the jail and Dentention Center. They watch over the inmates, cook the meals and keep the jail running in an orderly fashion.
